Privacy policy
Your runs stay on your phone
The short version: no account, no tracking, no ads. Your runs are saved on your phone and are never sent to us, and we don't collect your personal data.
Loopsplit is made by Scott Latimer, trading as Scott Latimer Studio (“we”, “us”). This policy explains what happens to your information when you use the Loopsplit app and visit loopsplit.run.
What the app uses, and why
- Your location. Loopsplit uses your phone's GPS while you record a run, to measure distance, splits, elevation and how you compare with your best. If you allow it, it keeps recording when your screen is locked so a run isn't cut short. Location is only used while a run is recording.
- Your runs. Routes, times, splits and elevation are saved on your phone only. They are not sent to us or to anyone else.
- Settings. Your choices, such as kilometres or miles and day or night mode, are saved on your phone.
What we don't do
- We don't ask you to create an account.
- We don't collect, store or see your location or your runs.
- We don't use advertising, analytics or tracking tools in the app.
- We don't sell or share any data.
Payments
If you buy the one-off unlock, the purchase is handled by Apple through the App Store. We don't receive your payment details. Apple's own privacy policy covers that transaction.
Exporting and deleting your runs
You can export your runs to a file at any time. You decide where that file goes. To delete your runs, delete them in the app, or delete the app, which removes everything it stored on your phone.
If you contact us
If you email support@loopsplit.run, we receive your email address and whatever you choose to tell us. We use it only to reply to you, and we delete support emails when they're no longer needed, normally within 12 months. Our legal basis under UK data protection law is our legitimate interest in answering your message.
Our website
loopsplit.run does not use cookies or tracking.
Children
Loopsplit is not aimed at children under 13, and we don't knowingly collect information from anyone.
Your rights
Under UK and EU data protection law you can ask what personal data we hold about you, ask us to correct or delete it, or object to how we use it. Because the app keeps everything on your phone, in practice this only applies to emails you've sent us. Contact support@loopsplit.run. If you're unhappy with our response, you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk.
Changes to this policy
If Loopsplit ever starts collecting anything new, we'll update this policy, change the effective date, and say so in the app's release notes.
