Why does Loopsplit need my location “Always”?
So your run keeps recording when your screen locks or you switch apps. Loopsplit only uses location while a run is recording, and it never leaves your phone.
When does racing start?
From your second run on a route. Your first run becomes the best to beat.
My loops all start at home. How does Loopsplit know which one I'm on?
It compares the path you're running with your saved routes and switches to the right one once your path splits off. Until then you'll see a “?” after the route name.
The distance or climb looks a little off.
Phone GPS is approximate, especially under trees, between tall buildings and for height. Small ups and downs under 3 metres are ignored so the climb doesn't drift.
I don't hear the chimes or spoken splits.
Check that the volume is up, the silent switch is off and the sounds are switched on in the app's settings.
How do I back up my runs or move them to a new phone?
Use Export runs to save a file, then Import runs on the new phone.
I bought the unlock but it isn't showing.
Open the app's settings and tap Restore purchase, signed in with the same Apple Account you used to buy it.
Can I get a refund?
App Store purchases are refunded by Apple. Request one at reportaproblem.apple.com.
Run safely
Loopsplit is designed to be glanced at, not stared at. Keep your eyes on where you're going, and stop before using the screen.
- Watch for traffic, cyclists, other people and uneven ground.
- Follow road and crossing rules. Never cross because the clock is running.
- Keep the volume low enough to hear what's around you.
- GPS distance, pace and elevation are approximate and can be wrong under trees, between buildings or in bad weather.
- Loopsplit is not medical or training advice. If you have a health condition or feel unwell, stop and seek advice.
